Faith Welsh - Taos, NM

I paint because I love the process.  I like to take risks, to stretch limits, mixing formal elements together, creating space for the unexpected to come through.  Windows of perception open up by exploring different ways of applying color, personalizing form and shifting perspective.  It interests me to integrate seemingly diverse elements together to construct a distinct view that didn't previously exist.

I like to respond to the the deeper essence of outer images I see and inner realms I imagine.  I aim to portray my response to visual stimuli and impressions received rather than attempt to recreate physical reality.  Essentially, I am enthralled with entering into the mystery.
